My 5 GOLDEN RULES

NEVER GET INTO A CAR WITH SOMEONE YOU DO NOT KNOW.

DO NOT ACCEPT GIFTS FROM A PERSON YOU DO NOT KNOW.

NEVER OPEN YOUR FRONT DOOR TO PEOPLE YOU DO NOT KNOW.

TELL AN ADULT WHERE YOU ARE GOING AND WHEN YOU WILL RETURN.

YOUR BODY IS PRIVATE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO SAY NO!

CALL 08 600 10111

Cell Phones

It is very important not to talk or use your cell phone in an open area, children are easy targets and an adult can just come and take your phone away.

Make your phone call and send your SMS while still on school grounds or when you get home. Do not walk down the road chatting on your phone.

South Africa Centre for Missing and Exploited Children www.missingkids.co.za

In South Africa alone, around 800-900 children are reported missing to law enforcement agencies each year; however, the actual figure is probably significantly higher. Similarly, the annual figure of 5,000 reported cases of rape and sexual assault of children is undoubtedly underestimated. Child protection services estimate that in South Africa, one in three girls and one in five boys suffer sexual exploitation in one form or another. Furthermore, over 2,000 children are murdered each year in South Africa.
